Bethany Collins was born in Montgomery, Alabama, in 1984. She holds anMFA from Georgia State University (2012) and a BA in Studio Art andVisual Journalism from the University of Alabama (2007). Her works havebeen exhibited in solo and group exhibitions at notable venuesthroughout the United States, including the Studio Museum in Harlem, theHigh Museum of Art, and the Flint Institute of Arts. Collins wasrecently accepted into the Viewing Program at The Drawing Center in NewYork and was an Artist in Residence at the Studio Museum in Harlem. Shewill soon begin residencies at the Bemis Center of Contemporary Art inOmaha, NE and the Fountainhead Residency in Miami, FL. Collins nowserves on the Board of Trustees of the Hambidge Center for the CreativeArts & Sciences. Collins is the recipient of the 2015 Hudgens PrizeAward.
