Stephanie Dowda is a lens-based artist. She believes in the transcendental nature of film and explores the theory of topophilia, connection to place, and loss in her work. Dowda has exhibited work with Institute 193, Get This! Gallery, University of California San Diego, and Les Berges as well as worked with curators like Mike Calway-Fagen and Rachel Reese. She is currently represented by White Space Gallery in Atlanta. 

Dowda is am Idea Capital grant recipient, Vermont Studio Center Fellow, Hambidge Fellow, Studio Artist with the Atlanta Contemporary Arts Center, Cabin Time Fellow, Frontier Fellow at Epicenter, recognized as an On Our Radar artist with Creative Capital, and a 2013 Baum New American Photographer award nominee. Her work can be seen in Oxford American, ArtsATL, BurnAway, Creative Loafing and Bad At Sports, among other publications.
