Join Makiko Maekawa for a fun and creative community art event designed especially for kids! Kids will be working together to create a large and beautiful weaving art piece that will be on display in Atlanta Contemporary’s next Exhibition, opening on October 24th. The weaving project invites young artists to explore their creativity and work together to create a vibrant, collaborative piece of art—a beautiful tapestry designed to foster and highlight how community togetherness can create something beautiful.
This is a drop-in event. Doors open at 12 pm and visitors may begin the project any time until 2 pm.
Join Venezuelan artist and curator Carlos Nunez as he discusses the exhibitions 1999, Trueque, Draft Cadence, and Lacer, exploring how contemporary artists uncover histories of power, cultural exchange, and material memory.
