A Life Drawing Experience
Dance Canvas returns to Atlanta Contemporary for their 3rd ‘Figures in Motion’ night. Thursday, May 2nd, will feature 2024 Dance Canvas CCDI Choreographer, and her cast of dancers, in her multi-genre dance work, ‘UN/BOUND’.
Atlanta Contemporary is excited to welcome back our friends at Dance Canvas for a unique life drawing experience. Sit amongst the art and follow the flow and movement of the choreographers as you hone your drawing skills.
Dance Canvas returns to Atlanta Contemporary on Thursday March 7th for another ‘Figures in Motion’. This time, we welcome back dancer/choreographer, Billy Hawkains III, who will be joined by dancer Samar Smith. Billy and Samar will move through the space, rehearsing a new work by New Jersey based choreographer, Mamiko Usuda. They will also take participants through their own movement and choreography through guided improvisation, a perfect opportunity to draw these Figures in Motion.
Beginning at 6:30 pm in the main gallery. Space is limited so make sure to register for your spot.
This event is BYOAS (bring your own art supplies); pencil, charcoal, and sketch pad recommended. Paint will not be allowed in the galleries. Atlanta Contemporary will not be providing art supplies for the event.
Although there will be a bartender and card-only bar on site, food and uncovered beverages will not be permitted in the galleries.
Parking is free in the lot at Bankhead & Means Street (Google Maps Location). You can access the lot via Bankhead Avenue and proceed past the parking attendant booth.
