Hannah James

I am a textile designer born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia and currently working in Athens, GA. My mission is to make women of all body types feel beautiful and confident in pieces that are special and one of a kind, and to do this with a focus on combating the environmental footprint left by fast fashion. The fashion industry is one of the world’s biggest polluters, and with prices and quality of craft rapidly decreasing, outsourcing to poorer countries has led to fewer local jobs and more unfairly paid laborers. At Hannah James Studio I believe it is important to make a conscious effort to reject cheap fashion and commit to sustainable, ethically made clothing. For me this takes form in making small batch, handmade, locally produced apparel that maintains its quality over time, and begs to be passed down rather than thrown away. Each piece is made with great care and attention using all natural fibers, and created from start to finish in my home studio in Georgia.
