Jacob Rhoads is an artist and educator living in Columbia, SC. His work uses rule-based processes to generate opportunities for improvisation, and includes paintings, drawings, and event scores. Rhoads earned a BA from Grinnell College, an MTS from Harvard Divinity School, and an MFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art. He has shown at such venues as Regina Rex, Sideshow Gallery, and the Fine Arts Work Center. Rhoads is currently the Chair of the Studio Art Program at Columbia College, and has previously taught at such schools as Mount Holyoke College and the Maryland Institute College of Art
