My Friend Sparksburg

Matthew Flores is an artist and designer currently based in Atlanta, Georgia. His studio practice is rooted in strategies of misdirection and appropriation, and orbits around an interest in how the art viewing experience can be analogized with the format of jokes, performance, and the theatrical. He received his MFA from the Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia in 2019 and his BA in Art History from the School of Visual Studies at the University of Missouri in 2015.

Currently: Associate Professor of Art in the Department of Art, Design, and Art History at Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri from 2010 – present. 

Before that: MFA in Printmaking from Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia in 2010. 

Earlier: BA in Studio Art from Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pennsylvania in 2007. Tate’s work has been recently exhibited in Vienna, Austria, New York City, Washington D.C., Portland, Saint Louis, Cleveland, and purchased by Toledo Museum of Art, and the UCLA Fine Arts, Yale University, and Reed College libraries.

Garrett Gould (b. 1992) currently lives and works in Boston, Massachusetts. He received his BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. 

His work has been shown at Jane Lombard Gallery (New York, NY) Moskowitz Bayse (Los Angeles, CA), Praise Shadows Gallery (Boston, MA), The Holland Project (Reno, NV), Hammock Gallery (Provincetown, MA), and with Fisher Parrish Gallery. (Brooklyn, NY).

Brendan Loper (b. 1984 Lancaster, PA) is a South Carolina-based cartoonist. He has exhibited at Richard and Dolly Maas Gallery at SUNY Purchase, David Zwirner Gallery in New York, as well as Elijah West Showroom and Sardine in Brooklyn. His work can be found in The New Yorker, Playboy, Times of London and others.

Natalie Petrosky (b.1989, Akron, OH) is an artist living and working in Cleveland, OH. She received her MFA in Painting & Drawing at the University of Tennessee (2016) and her BFA in Painting with an Honors Thesis in Glass from the School of Art at Kent State University in Kent, OH (2012). Petrosky works primarily in painting and drawing, as well as in sculpture, video, and glass.

Jacob Rhoads is an artist and educator living in Columbia, SC. His work uses rule-based processes to generate opportunities for improvisation, and includes paintings, drawings, and event scores. 

He has shown at such venues as Regina Rex, Sideshow Gallery, and the Fine Arts Work Center. Rhoads is currently the Chair of the Studio Art Program at Columbia College, and has previously taught at such schools as Mount Holyoke College and the Maryland Institute College of Art

Chloë Simmons is an interdisciplinary artist who works in a variety of media from video to sculpture, textiles, and installation. Employing themes of delusion, fantasy, death, memory, consciousness, and desire; her current practice navigates what it feels like to be alive right now, questioning the impact of images, and digital technologies on our relationships with ourselves and others.
