Julio Ceballos was born in Bogotá, Colombia and moved to Atlanta at the age of 9. He began drawing when he was 3 and has nurtured that passion for creating into adulthood. He earned his Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in 2013 from Georgia State University. Julio’s work ranges from realism to abstract, surreal to conceptual, two and three-dimensional and installation work. Julio is based out of Atlanta GA. He has done work for several Atlanta organizations including the Georgia Building Authority, The Georgia Department of Veteran Affairs and The Atlanta Beltline. While primarily trained in traditional painting and studio art, Julio’s most recent work is focused on public spaces, employing a mixture of installation, sculpture and interactive art to engage and challenge a more diverse audience. His overall body of work is informed by science, technology and society. He uses these themes to create work that comments on contemporary social trends and how we interact and shape our environment.
