Katie Geha

Katie Geha is a writer, curator, and art historian. She is currently the Director of the Dodd Galleries at the Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia, Athens and regularly teaches modern and contemporary art history seminars. She received her PhD in Art History from the University of Texas, Austin and her MA in Contemporary Art History, Theory, and Criticism from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Geha’s research is focused on American art from the 1960s to the present. She examines technology, science, mysticism, gender, and poetics as principles within the art of this period. Geha was formerly the Director of SOFA Gallery in Austin, TX, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Ulrich Museum of Art, Wichita, KS, and her writing has appeared in numerous publications including the Poetry Foundation, Artforum.com, and Art Papers.
