Kitt is an artist, activist and drag king, who has been working in a socially engaged arts practice for 10 years. Based in the UK, their projects have taken place all over the world, winning awards & involving thousands of people. Kitt uses paper cutting, performance & research to create objects, events and interactions. Their work is driven by an insatiable curiosity to explore the social & political functions of making/ art (with a very broad definition of what that might mean, including: craftivism, home improvements, nail-art, online gaming, flower arranging). Some of the things that have happened as part of Kitt’s practice are: super-sized origami, participatory performances, policy changes & the creation of “(small but) FIERCE”, an international feminist art magazine for and by children. Kitt co-curated the 1st Nasty Women exhibition in the UK and co-convened the 1st Intentional Nasty Women Conference.
