Pat Blocher (b. 1987, San Diego, Ca.) works with photography, video, sculpture and installation. Using digital and analog processes, they merge traditional photographic techniques with contemporary optical technologies. Through this hybridization, Blocher examines the gray areas of identity, knowledge, and community. They have shown nationally including, Tampa, Los Angeles and New York. Solo exhibitions include Scandinavia+ at Hill Street Country Club, Oceanside, CA, (Other) People In Love at Cunsthaus and Girl In The Dark at Gallery3 both in Tampa, FL. Blocher has been included in numerous group exhibitions including Momentos, curated by Alyssa Cordero, at The Center Gallery, Tampa, FL, the 2017 Carolyn M. Wilson Gallery Juried Exhibition, curated by Shaun Leonardo, Tampa, FL and This Is Not Here: Re 21, curated by Efrem Zelony-Mindell at the Pfizer pharmaceutical building in Brooklyn, NY. Blocher received their BA in Art from The University of California, Los Angeles in 2012, their MFA from The University of South Florida, Tampa in 2019, and attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in 2019.
