ART PARTY 2024

ART PARTY

It’s that time of year again! The night will transform the campus with programming, present you with special performances, and of course, Open Studios with our artists in the Studio Artist Program.

THEME: Real Atlanta

This year’s ART PARTY theme is REAL ATLANTA, which highlights the authentic roots of Atlanta’s world renown creative brilliance. Atlanta’s spirit comes from the hearts and minds of those who love this city and celebrate it in everything they do. And this year at ART PARTY we celebrate the artists who make Atlanta’s magic feel real.

The Night’s Happenings

Join us for an amazing evening that underwrites Atlanta Contemporary’s vision to remain free admission, every day. Mix, mingle, move around and enjoy a specialty cocktail provided by esteemed bartenders or by one of our generous sponsors.

Atlanta Contemporary’s VIP Hour will raise a glass to the road paved by artists, curators, donors, visitors, and staff that drove the defining vision that is instilled in Atlanta Contemporary today. After the VIP Hour, you are invited to continue the night – mirrored after bygone years – venture down the rabbit holes with new exhibitions, music performances, surprise activations, and Open Studios!

Artists. Community. Collect. Support.

Meander through the campus and explore activations in the main galleries. Before you venture out, be sure to check out our SHOP, featuring curated artist-made goods and Nexus Press books.

As you step outside, venture into any and every studio - peruse, learn, inquire, and collect - supporting our acclaimed artists participating in the Studio Artist Program.

Register

Event Offsite at Emory University’s Michael C. Carlos Museum Join us at Emory University’s Michael C. Carlos Museum for a conversation between renowned Guyanese-British artist Hew Locke, whose work explores empire and power, and Guyanese-American curator Grace Aneiza Ali. The landmark exhibition, Donald Locke: Nexus, curated by Ali and on view here at Atlanta Contemporary, honors the life and legacy of Guyanese-born artist Donald Locke (1930–2010), one of Atlanta’s most influential artists. It focuses on how the concept of “nexus” permeates his artistic and intellectual journey and his engagement with themes of migration, cultural hybridity, and the histories of colonialism.
