Carlos Nunez is a Venezuelan artist living and working in New York City. He is also the owner of Mimo Gallery in Bushwick, NY.
Carlos' work addresses historical networks of power and their impact on mundanity. With a focus on the relationships between Venezuela and the United States, Nunez weaves speculative narratives that retrace and unveil systems of oppression. These invisible systems expose themselves in different elements of control, from objects of marginalization to geopolitical associations, amassing corruption in their core.
Mimo Gallery is focused on non-verbal gestures of communication. It exhibits a variety of artists in the setting of a Bushwick, NY basement.
